Last saturday night, a convoy of fire engines responded to a report of smoke near 3N59A and the trail to the hotsprings. They discovered a joshua tree on fire. There were no lightning strikes in the region. Arson is suspected as the cause. Sunday morning we observed a USFS and a BLM truck travelling up Bowen Ranch Road presumably to investigate this incident further. Anyone who observed suspicious activity in the area last saturday is urged to contact the USFS.
