Hello Dirk, As of last weekend the creek at DCHS was easily crossable at the beach across the creek from the Crab Cooker, or just upstream from the Arizona Pool using the rock crossing. The storm that came through a couple of days ago did drop rain initially but turned pretty quickly to snow down into the low elevations, including DCHS. When it snows down at DCHS that of course means there is no rain to raise the creek level. Since the days and nights have been pretty cold, the snow is currently melting slowly. That may change in the next few days if it warms back up, and by this upcoming weekend there may be enough snow melt to make the creek crossing a tougher prospect. The Bradford Ridge trail is in much better shape due to volunteer work in recent years. It is about two and a half miles from the Kinely Creek Bridge to DCHS using that route. That trail is more work that hiking form the Bowen Ranch Parking area to DCHS, but it does get you to the DCHS hotpools with no worries about cold creek crossings. Given the recent rain and snowfall in the mountains which could be melting in the next few days you might want to opt for the Bradford Ridge option for your hike. Good Luck on your trip to DCHS :-)
