Thanks Rick for researching and posting this well written article from up in Montana. The problems associated with non complient OHV users is not unique to the Mojave desert. The intrusion of illegal off road motorcycles into the Deep Creek roadless area is blatently evident to anyone who hikes the area cross country along the northern boundry. The scoflaws even cut the USFS fence to get in and out of there. Fortunatly, many people who enjoy OHV exploration do obey the laws and stay on the designated routes. Increased Ranger patrols with public education is an effective deterent to illegal OHV abuse.
