I agree that Bowen Ranch is too dangerous for equestrian use, Gail. That was the protest of the equestrians at the kiosk to Barry Nelson following the Willow Fire. He expressed no sympathy for their lack of safety.

Similarly, OHV trails are not compatible with use by the non-motorized public. Some of the dirt bikers in the area are competitive racers and are going balls- out.

Cottonwood Springs was essentially designated a non-motorized area when the trails to it were closed and the parking lot was constructed. This was a very sensible decision.

New trails into Cottonwood Springs (such as J1299) should be restricted to non-motorized use. Non-motorized access into and through Juniper Flats is also desirable.

Arrastre Canyon also presents some fine non-motorized recreational opportunities and must be addressed.
