Warmer water has made its way up the coast of Baja. I heard reports of exotic warm water species of fish being sighted on kelp patties offshore and headed out to verify this rumor. Tonite we dined on fresh mahi mahi, (called dorado in these waters) that I caught yesterday in 71 degree water off San Diego. There are also reports of wahoo being caught 240 miles south of Point Loma near Guadalupe Island. This is a rare occurance happening only in El Nino years. So it looks like we may be in for some suprises with the weather this winter if the El Nino pattern continues to develop.
