It was raining heavy here at our house in Apple Valley till about 11 AM. The 15 FWY in the cajon pass was closed in both directions in the morning because of snowy conditions. Around noon I went up to a house I'm building up in Oak Hills to do some electrical work and found snow there around 395 and Phelan RD. When I crossed the Mohave this evening around 5:30 PM it was up a little bit like the last three day rain event levels. Since the snow level was down around Maybe 3500 feet for a time this morning the local mountains got alot of snow. The low snow level will mean limited amount of runoff from the mountains for today. If we get a warmer spell and it begins to melt the snow Deep Creek will experience some flooding. The big floods come with the very high snow level ( 7000 to 8000 feet ) and heavy rains. Thats what I'm hoping for before the rainy season is over. Along Deep Creek from the recent storms alot more sand is starting to show. I'm looking forward to those emeral green summer creek waters without all that black mud.
