Well...The USFS accepted money from me for an Adventure Pass and now I will get a big fine if I get caught using it. I asked for a refund and was told that I cannot have my money back. And.....our double tax dollars are hard at work. I observed a helicopter patrolling Deep Creek canyon this afternoon, evidently looking for "fire closure violaters". Whoever it was,they buzzed the Bowen Ranch parking area before flying over the hotsprings.
The good news is the weather was a perfect 72-78 degrees today with a mild breeze out of the northeast. Blue skies prevailed with some wispy white high clouds. The rabbit brush is in full bloom with its bright yellow flowers highlighting the desert. Traffic on Bowen Ranch Road was light with just the locals going to and from town...until next time.....happy trails!
