I've noticed that the word "new" stays there when using the "back" icon, but, yes, it does vanish when using "go to top" or "older messages/newer messages." Since the red "new" really helps me find the things I haven't read yet, I've been just reading each thread and then using the "back" icon to see the threads again. I don't know if this is a misfunction, or if this is the way it is supposed to work. Hopefully Webmaster will clarify.
