The Angeles National Forest has a conservation mission. In the past, we have worked with our State and Federal partners in the translocation of endangered animals away from areas impacted by fire and drought, and have assisted with the placement of captive-bred, endangered wildlife into suitable habitat on the Forest. This summer, the US Fish & Wildlife-Carlsbad Office, in cooperation with the Angeles National Forest, is proposing to reintroduce the threatened Santa Ana sucker fish into a segment of its historical habitat in Upper Big Tujunga.
