Well said tom foolery. As I sat down to write my trip report there you are with the same issue. I enjoyed reading your report , s l o w l y. The only correction I could see is the temp of the Womb pool is almost always 100 -102 degrees this time of year. Also the Pool above the Womb pool is called the Anniversary pool. It was great that you enjoyed the New Place provided by Brett and company. I am certain that the atmosphere around the issues the Bowen ranch created are going to be much more enjoyable for all hot spring lovers. Thanks for your glowing report about the New Place to park.
I had a harder time recuperating from my trip. My 65 year old body has gotten out of shape more than I had thought possible. All my life I have been "in shape" and an athlete. Since I was 5 years old on the swim team at the Y.M.C.A. Or on the track team in junior high school. And I then played Football in high school. While I was raising my 3 sons I ran in 5 & 10k races for 25 years till my knees said STOP ! So for the first time in ages I felt the laisy attic acid that builds up in your muscles after burning fat. I hope I spelled that correct ? So all my life I have been "in shape" as they say. And much stronger than I appear. I had to go on a 2 mile hike with my dog to work the acid out of my muscles this morning. When I got back home I took a one hour nap. Not what I expected.
Wizard and his wife and I got to the Bradford ridge parking area at 11:30 am. The weather was chilly but nice with the sun shining. There was more snow than I thought would still be there. The snow was mostly in the areas where shade was protecting it. In some of the steeper places you need to be very careful. The snow ended on the Bradford ridge which is the last big hill before Deep creek. Most of my time this trip was spent chatting with all of the beautiful people at this SPECIAL place. Wizard and his nice wife and I enjoyed the sunset as we left. Wizard and his wife took the shorter steep path going back to the car. I took the longer route up the actual Bradford ridge. While hiking out I heard what sounded like gun fire and firecrackers and then saw fireworks banging fairly close down stream from the pools. I would estimate there were some campers around where the bridge is "celebrating." Ain't America GREAT !
Another terrific day to enjoy my favorite hot spring !
Happy 2020 everyone !
