Even tho I am in Florida I dream about drinking the water from the crab cooker and have had NO side effects ; - ) Otherwise when I was there I did like wizard does. Some times I would fill several gallons go up mofo hill then put some in the fridge and drink when needed.
Back in the early 90's, when I was heading to the springs early one morning. I came across 3 students who were dressed in lab coats and oxford shoes. I asked why the dress? They said "they were doing a class project on spring water. They had been to several springs and when they tested the water at deep creek they could find NO minerals, ZERO. They were using a parts per thousand testing machine. They got permission to use a parts per billion machine to retest the water there. And were coming back to get another sample." I gave them my address and some dollars and asked for a report. They sent it to me. The report said the minerals there were so minute they were negligible. The trace minerals detected were Lithium, Borax and Alum. the report said these trace minerals were common in almost all spring water.
Sorry about any miss spelling I am NOT a perfectionist.
I gave this report to Mike Castro the Bowen ranch owner and he kept it on his bulletin board a very long time. That was in the early nineties.
Back after the North ridge earthquake (1998) I remember seeing some orange minerals coming from there and the flow was reduced considerably.
When I get back to sunny California I will get me some more of my of pressiouss hot springs water. YUM !
