...FIRST WINTRY STORM OF THE SEASON TO IMPACT THE MOUNTAINS OF
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SUNDAY NIGHT...

.RAIN AND HIGH ELEVATION SNOW WILL DEVELOP SUNDAY AFTERNOON OR
EVENING OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. COLDER AIR WILL
FILTER INTO THE MOUNTAINS OF SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTIES
DURING THE EVENING, CHANGING THE RAIN OVER TO SNOW ABOVE 6000 FEET
IN ELEVATION. HEAVY SNOW COULD OCCUR ABOVE 7000 FEET AFTER
MIDNIGHT INTO EARLY MONDAY MORNING. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8
INCHES LIKELY ABOVE 7000 FEET, WITH AN INCH OR TWO AS LOW AS 6000
TO 6500 FEET IN ELEVATION. THERE WILL ALSO BE GUSTY WINDS, THE
STRONGEST ALONG THE SOUTH FACING SLOPES.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SUNDAY TO 7 AM
PST MONDAY.

* SNOW LEVELS...8000 FEET SUNDAY AFTERNOON, DROPPING TO 6000 FEET
BY LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.

* TIMING...RAIN AND SNOW DEVELOP SUNDAY AFTERNOON OR EVENING,
BECOMING HEAVY SUNDAY NIGHT. RAIN AND SNOW TAPERING OFF DURING
THE DAY MONDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 3 INCHES BETWEEN 6000 TO 7000 FEET, 4
TO 8 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET.

* WINDS...SOUTHWESTERLY WIND GUSTS SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY
NIGHT WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ALONG THE SOUTH FACING SLOPES OF
THE SAN BERNARDINO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS.

* VISIBILITY...REDUCED TO ONE-QUARTER MILE OR LESS UNDER THE
HEAVIER SNOW.

* IMPACTS...VERY SLICK AND TREACHEROUS MOUNTAIN ROAD TRAVEL LIKELY
IN THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING. PLAN
AHEAD IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS!

* OUTLOOK...STRONG WINDS AND PRECIPITATION TAPERING OFF DURING THE
DAY MONDAY.
