It's always fun to go with friends, but sometimes schedules etc...you go alone. I go alone, and am never alone down there, too many friends and regulars to visit with and soak with. Most every time I visit I meet others who have come down on their own, and contra Paul P.'s post, many of them are women. Two visits ago, a majority woman day at the springs in fact, I remember meeting a British woman on a west coast trip who wanted to experience the springs and came on her own. This past trip I made last week, I was set up in the shade with a woman who came down on her own, or rather with her new dog - and who I've been lucky enough to meet at the springs at least three or four times in the past. As a regular visitor, like me, she is never really alone down there - and Wizard and I both soaked with her during the day. Anyway just saying I don't find that women need to be any more careful about visiting the springs than men do - we all need to be careful, be prepared with supplies and water and such, and be informed, but that's all.
