I rescued two young people last week who got lost while hiking out. The young woman was in the first stages of hypothermia by the time I got them back to my truck. They were very lightly dressed and it was below freezing temps. The woman said she felt like she was going to die as she lay in my trucks back seat, I had the heater on full. If I had not spotted them where they were, one of them, or both might have died. I got them to their vehicle, then the guy while backing up went off the road and got it stuck. I ended up driving them all the way back to where they live in Victorville.
