Fairly recent reports here said that the bad spot between the Bowen entrance gate and the parking area is still very rough/precarious. If you are driving up from down the hill, the inland empire or LA area, you might try the Bradford Ridge trail to DCHS, the trailhead starts on HWY 173. Its paved Rd all the way to the parking spot, and about an hour and 15 minutes walk to the springs. For your vehicle, this might be just the route for you : )
