Looks like it's a balmy 50F/10C out there. Thinking of heading straight to Apple Valley during first week of Jan before returning to work. Where I am now on the east coast is 23F/-5C and although we have an outdoor hot tub, not very inviting. The coldest I ever felt up here was -40F/-40C during an ice fishing trip a few years ago at a town called Wawa (Ontario). That generated 2 feet of ice cover on the lake. 1 foot is strong enough to support a full size commercial jet. We were too cheap to buy a proper drill so had a hand crank blade. Minnow bucket would freeze every 2 minutes.
