I am making a trash compactor in the next two days that will hopefully be able to lessen the physical bulk of further trash collections down by 30%-40%. My biggest problem when hauling trash out of DCHS is not the weight, it is the bulk that swings back and forth from my external frame pack. Smaller more compact loads that I can bungee down would really help me, and hopefully others.
I would like to assume that most people that are willing to haul trash out look at the bags that Sam D so graciously made and say "wow that is far too big for me to take up, someone else will though". Smaller and easier bites of the elephant might help lessen the load for everyone involved in hauling trash.
As for a day in the future for trash pickup I am game. Sadly, when I leave harbor freight trash pickers down there they just up and disappear within one weeks time
