RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS-SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS-

...PAIR OF WEATHER SYSTEMS WITH PRECIPITATION FOR THIS WEEK...

THE FIRST IN A PAIR WEATHER SYSTEMS TO BRING PRECIPITATION AND
COOLING TO SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA THIS WEEK IS EXPECTED FOR LATE
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. RAINFALL AMOUNTS FOR ORANGE AND SAN
BERNARDINO COUNTIES ALONG AND WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS ARE EXPECTED TO
RANGE FROM AROUND ONE HALF INCH NEAR THE COAST TO 1 TO 2 INCHES ON
THE SOUTH SLOPES OF THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS. FOR SAN
DIEGO AND RIVERSIDE COUNTIES...AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM
ONE QUARTER TO ONE THIRD INCH NEAR THE COAST TO ONE HALF TO ONE INCH
IN THE MOUNTAINS. AMOUNTS IN THE DESERTS OF ONE TENTH INCH OR LESS
ARE POSSIBLE. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL LOWER TO AROUND 5500 FEET
WEDNESDAY WITH A FEW INCHES OF SNOWFALL POSSIBLE IN THE SAN
BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS...MAINLY ABOVE 6500 FEET. LOCALLY
GREATER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE ON HIGHER PEAKS. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT
PRECIPITATION FOR MOST AREAS IS EXPECTED WEDNESDAY MORNING. IN
ADDITION TO THE COOLING AND PRECIPITATION...GUSTY WEST WINDS TO
AROUND 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE DESERT SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THE SECOND WEATHER SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE LATE THURSDAY NIGHT
INTO FRIDAY WITH A PERIOD OF LIGHT TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION AND BE
A LITTLE COLDER AND STRONGER THAN THE FIRST. SNOW LEVELS COULD LOWER
TO 4000 TO 4500 FEET FOR FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. THIS LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL ONLY MOVE VERY SLOWLY INLAND FOR THE WEEKEND
WITH SHOWERS LINGERING INTO SATURDAY AND ENDING FROM THE NORTH
SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS SECOND WEATHER SYSTEM WILL ALSO BRING PERIODS
OF GUSTY SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS TO THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS AT
TIMES. DRYING AND A LITTLE WARMER FOR SUNDAY.
