Re: Is Deep creek shutting down for public in May 15th?

I was in the US Army, based at Ft Irwin, north of Barstow, for a year (10/1967-10/1968). If I'd known that such a wonderful place existed in my vicinity I'd have been there just about every weekend. I left the Army in 1969 and nine months later I discovered the high desert nirvana and I've been visiting Deep Creek Hot Springs since then whenever I can. If the military thought that they could just move into the national forest and take it over, they'd discover just what a real war could be. ;-)
