SATURDAY THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...

.A LATE SEASON WINTER STORM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA SATURDAY THROUGH EARLY MONDAY WITH PERIODS OF MODERATE
TO LOCALLY HEAVY SNOWFALL...STRONG WINDS...AND LOW SNOW LEVELS.

SUNDAY ABOVE 4000 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING ABOVE 4000 FEET FOR HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS...WHICH
IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM SATURDAY TO 5 PM PDT SUNDAY. THE WINTER
STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* ELEVATION: ABOVE 4000 FEET.

* SNOW LEVELS: 6000 FEET TO 6500 FT SATURDAY MORNING LOWERING TO AROUND
3500 FEET SATURDAY EVENING...AND 2500 FEET BY SUNDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 6 TO 12 INCHES BETWEEN 4000 AND 6000 FEET
AND 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE 6000 FEET. LOCAL SNOWFALL IN EXCESS OF 2
FEET IS POSSIBLE AT THE HIGHEST PEAKS. MINOR ACCUMULATIONS
ARE ALSO POSSIBLE BELOW 3000 FEET.

* TIMING: LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS BEGINNING AS EARLY AS FRIDAY
NIGHT...BECOMING WIDESPREAD AND HEAVY LATE SATURDAY MORNING
THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING EVENING. SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* WINDS: AREAS OF SOUTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65
MPH NEAR RIDGE TOPS AND ALONG DESERT SLOPES.

* VISIBILITY: NEAR ZERO AT TIMES IN SNOW...BLOWING SNOW... AND
FOG.

* IMPACTS: RESIDENTS AND TRAVELERS INTO HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE
MOUNTAINS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR HAZARDOUS WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE ROAD CLOSURES. IF POSSIBLE...CARRY
CHAINS AND TAKE EXTRA FOOD AND CLOTHING. TRAVEL WILL LIKELY BE
IMPACTED ON INTERSTATE 15 THROUGH THE CAJON PASS LATE SATURDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...AND AT TIMES ON SUNDAY INTO
MONDAY.

* OUTLOOK: MODERATE SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES SUNDAY
EVENING INTO EARLY MONDAY.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
