Yes Jobe it is very important to always have plenty of water especially when exploring areas with your vehicle that you are unfamiliar with, and in hot conditions. I read a recent story in our local paper the Daily Press about a couple visiiting from another country who were out exploring a remote dirt road in Joshua National Park and they got stuck during the day in extremely hot weather and did not have enough water. The searchers found both of their bodies some distance from their vehicle. From the looks of it they died of dehydration trying to walk out for help. In a situation like that with mininmal water its a huge mistake to try and cross the desert in the heat of the day.
