There is a trail head but the Forest service has screwed it up by putting large boulders in it. Makeing it just big enough for 2 cars. When you see a bridge at a turn in the road, you are there.
I camped just up hill from there twice. And saw a deer family both times. The trail head is on the north side of the road. Follow the trail down canyon until you see Deep creek. Then go up stream about 1/4 of a mile. The hard part is the BRadford ridge which has a 600 foot change in elevation just before the creek.
There are many trees and valleys to choose from before you get to the ridge. With some very amazinatural scenery.
