Hmmm, nobody seems to stay around for more than a couple of hours at Remington so going on a weekend shouldn't be too much of problem. I believe you are just as likely to find the locals there on the weekdays because many of them do not have jobs.

I have seen people camp there so I don't believe it is illegal ... but I could be wrong. You can camp part-way down the hill, almost all the way down to the springs. That's where you'll find a large flat area off to the right side of the trail.

It's kinda hard to describe the yahoos in comparision to Deep Creek ... I prefer the Deep Creek yahoos ... they seem less dangerous. Being a female, I would NEVER consider going alone to Remington but I might at Deep Creek. As long as you stay aware of the people around you, you shouldn't have any problems. From what I've seen there, problems are rare ... the people are just a little less "refined".

Hope that answers your questions. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
