Those small squirrel looking things are called chipmunks. Are you old enough to remember Alvin ?
Those wormy leech looking things are leeches. They attach themselves to the granite rocks and mate this time of year. Best to check yourself to be certain they all come off. Also they can attach to your clothes and towels. I have found them under my arms while in the shower.
The worst part about going to the springs is you have too leave ;~(
