Thanks for your kind comment, Paul. I've been a fan of Spencer Tunick's photography since the 1990s when he would stage "installations," his word for guerrilla photo sessions at dawn somewhere in public in New York City. Several dozen volunteers would assemble before first light on Wall Street, Broadway, in Central Park or any other place where Tunick felt the setting would be notable. Once the daylight was strong enough for photos the models would strip to the skin, assemble quickly to the center of the street, park or wherever, and Spencer would start shooting. In those early days the police would show up. forcefully arrest the photographer on disturbing the peace, creating a nuisance, violating public morals or any other charge they thought would stick. Spencer fought back. After a court battle in June, 2001 where the city appealed unsuccessfully to the United States Supreme Court, Mr. Tunick won the right to photograph nudes in public.

Most of Tunick's installation photos and photos taken by others at those events are mostly small files. The GreenPeace photos are large in size and spectacular for setting and content. Enjoy.

If you aren't familiar with the artist's history watch the DVDs by director Arlene Donnelly, "Naked States," and "Naked World." Both are available for rental (Blockbuster.com and Netflix.com) and purchase (Amazon.com).
