I wrote that post about the motorcycles from the freedom trail parking lot this morning and then proceeded to the hot springs. At the freedom trail parking lot I had all five bars of my antenna on my phone working. When I walked up to frog rock I saw 4 tents and 6 sleeping bags with people sleeping in them and 3 empty bags. And one hammock empty. When I crossed the creek I started picking up the trash from the full moon party of the night before. I did not remove the several articles of clothing all around. As the day progressed I estimated @ 30-35 people were camping out. No new people came down the hill but groups of campers were heading up the hill. This made for more quite time as I snoozed after reading my scientific magazine. I suppose all the city folks were too tired from the fourth of July parties to go to D.C.H.S. So it was almost as nice as a weekday. Right at 3:00pm I to started up the hill. The breeze was very comfortable as the temperature was in the low 80"s. As I got to my truck I was on my cell phone talking to my sons in Florida about my b/day. When suddenly right beside my truck door was a Bobcat. He was full grown and beautiful. He stopped like a statue for @ 15 seconds right beside and underneath me. After he darted off I opened my door for a better view. He was beside a bush @ 20 yards in front of my truck. He saw me for @ 5 more seconds then backed behind the bush, disappearing. That cat was the most exciting thing that happened all day.
