As you mentioned NeoGeo I was there this Saturday, with my family. When we arrived we crossed the creek and went around to see if we could get a shady spot by the sycamores just north of the Aniversary Pool but found a large group of trashy youths hanging out under those trees. I didn't like the atmosphere around that group, and the other spots of shade close to the Arizona Pool where taken so we ended up spending our time around the granite areas by the Womb and Serenity Pools. It was really a beautiful view looking off downstream. I got the pool hose I keep down there and vacumed out the Serenity Pool a couple of times and also the Womb for a while. Lots of loose algae down at the bottom of the Womb and I got about half of it out. I got to hot diving under the hot water repeatedly so finally decided to give it try on another day.
NeoGeo, you mentioned seeing a " Rick " down there on Saturday. There is a guy named Rick who goes quite regularly that was there. He was the naturist guy floating alot of the time on the raft out in the creek pool in front of the hotpools. He is not the Rick that runs this forum however. Rick did mention a couple of times his noticing how there was hardly any naturist people there that day. Another regular Naked Man ( naturist also ) was there and he usually does a head count of people in the busiest part of the day and he counted 94 people Saturday. He said that he has only counted more people on one other day during his visits and that was 97.
Regarding your mentioning the idea of putting up signs, I kinda doubt the USFS would do something like that. You could call the Arrowhead Ranger station and ask them about this. Between the illegal motorcycles riders making the north side of the Deep Creek canyon essentially one gigantic illegal moto riding park and the proliferation of textile visitors to DCHS the atmosphere transformation is something I have not enjoyed seeing or experiencing. This is why I generally now go on my visits to Deep Creek on the weekdays to avoid both the illegal moto riding and the big loud crowds at DCHS. I also spend much of my naturist hiking time these days in pristine areas where these problems do not exist.
Enjoyed seeing those old time photos of DCHS you posted NeoGeo. Interesting seeing that sand beach out in front of the Womb and Serenity Pool. I've been visiting for 25 years and have never seen a sand beach there. Big floods are always moving the sand around and changing the beaches. Well I understand your sentiments NeoGeo. I think the bad trends regarding all of this will continue.
