About 20-25 years ago the cattle and their "pies" were all over the hills and the creek bed. A lady friend and I were walking out on the goat trail when we encountered a bunch or 5 or 6 cattle blocking the trail. I walked among them and started yelling and swatting them with a branch and some I pushed out of the way until it was safe to pass. Lucky for my friend and I that the "dogies" didn't know that they were dangerous.
