All in all a perfect day well spent!
As an aside tip for those spending a day out at any of the hot springs that are remote: A can of chili, Beefaroni, or any canned ready to eat, non condensed good makes for a great hot meal. Remove the paper labels at your home so they dont end up in the water as refuse, then when you get to the springs, submerge them in the hottest water you can find. (A netted style bag with a cinch at the top comes in really handy for this.)
When you are ready to eat, be sure to not remove the entire lid with your can opener so you can fold it back into itself so you don't accidentally lose the lid and have someone else step on it.
This is something that I've been doing for years in my visits to all the springs in the Mammoth Lakes area when I would play up there with my band. Really comes in handy when you go out to them in the winter.
