Trans-Atlantic Carbon Market?
It is being reported by the Associated Press that "Britain and California are preparing to sidestep the Bush administration and fight global warming together by creating a joint market for greenhouse gases. British Prime Minister Tony Blair and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger plan to lay the groundwork for a new trans-Atlantic market in carbon dioxide emissions." Blair and Schwarzenegger are expected to announce their collaboration Monday afternoon in Los Angeles, where they are scheduled to exchange views with industry CEOs in a round-table discussion today in Long Beach, Calif., on how to work together to accelerate the deployment of clean-energy technologies. The BUSH ADMINISTRATION is NOTABLY ABSENT from the list of participants. If this trans-Atlantic carbon market truly eventuates it would be a momentous moment as California would be accepting a cap on carbon emissions, something that the national government has fiercely resisted. This move would be a thorough repudiation of the President's lack of leadership on the matter........
Bush, Cheney, and thier Oil Pals are too busy helping Isreal blow Lebanon to smithereens, hoping ( lots of money to be made ) for the next world war, to worry too much about the planet turning into an oven.
