...FLASH FLOOD WATCH 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON FOR ALL AREAS OF EXTREME SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...

.AN APPROACHING PACIFIC STORM WILL BRING RAIN...HEAVY AT TIMES...
LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO WEDNESDAY. LIGHT RAIN HAS BEGUN IN MANY
AREAS AND WILL INTENSIFY THIS AFTERNOON...THEN TURN TO SHOWERS
WITH THE SNOW LEVEL LOWERING TO NEAR 5500 FEET WEDNESDAY.
RAINFALL TOTALS SHOULD RANGE FROM THREE QUARTERS TO TWO INCHES IN
THE COASTAL AREAS AND VALLEYS...WITH 2 TO 5 INCHES ON THE
SOUTHWEST FACING MOUNTAIN SLOPES AND ABOUT ONE HALF INCH IN THE
DESERTS. GENERALLY MORE RAIN IN THE NORTHWEST AREAS AND LESS IN
SAN DIEGO COUNTY. THERE COULD ALSO BE HEAVY RAINFALL RATES OF A
THIRD TO TWO THIRDS OF AN INCH PER HOUR TONIGHT. FLOODING...MUD
SLIDES... ROCK SLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS WILL BE
POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY IN AND BELOW RECENTLY BURNED AREAS AND ON
STEEP TERRAIN.

SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
