I haven't heard about Nelson leaving, but it certainly would not surprise me, many southern california and bay area government agencies have run about 20% attrition every year for the last three years. The employees leave, requesting transfers out of state so as to cash out their home values... maybe nelson wanted to cash in his equity, not deal with hot springs and ATV's, and live a more worry free life in arizona.... lol

good riddance, and enjoy the 122 degree heat, hope the rumors true and that bowen ranch finds a much different relationship with the BLM in its wake.

ps, as to an earlier post, yes, the government is crazy to allow grazing rights almost anywhere, and to then also expect private landowners to pay for fencing their lands that adjoin to government lands when the government is the one that gets the lease payments, but i dont really have an answer as to what to do...... you know, it occurs to me that these animals are trespassing, and causing danger to both property and life... I think you would be justified in killing any animal that did not belong to you that trespassed on your land... as I am sure cattle are worth money, maybe the loss of several animals would make the cattlemen want to pay to fence your land off so as to prevent their animals from continuing to trespass, and being shot, on your lands. Just my two cents there.

any trip reports? my t shirt has been like a wet towel these last few weeks so ive been staying away, but its about august, and ive been hoping for some cooling off heading into september. is the shower fixed?
