Well folks.....the big news this week was the Ford Thunderbird that went over the edge near the top of "sand hill". The story I got was a couple drove up the hill to enjoy the view. The romance of the moment began to overwhelm them until the car started rolling. Fortunatly, neither one was inside when the car took a fateful journey over the edge. It finaly came to rest on its wheels after doing several rolls down into a very deep canyon. And there.....it shall remain. No way the tow truck is coming for this one!
And the weather? You guessed it, intermittant rainshowers intermixed with an abundance of wildflowers. Suggested reading is "Mojave Desert Wildflowers" by local botanist Pam MacKay. This book has color photographs and is THE fieldguide to have when checking out the local color.
