After reading the posts on vertical mulching presented here and on a previous thread, and observing the effects of the vertical mulching done as opposed to areas where it is needed and not being done, I can only conclude that Tanya did a good job and I wish that the current BLM staff would initiate more vertical mulching to erase the many illegal trails that continue to be used in Juniper Flats. If this effort were combined with enforcement, we might be able to heal some of the damage done by ORV use.
J1299 would be a good place to start. I would be willing to help with the rehabbing effort as a volunteer, and I suspect that many other members of Friends of Juniper Flats would also do the same.
Would the BLM be willing to provide the enforcement needed to make it work??
