Yeah, and I have heard they ask your name first as well. Rattlesnakes will stay away from people if they can, that's why we see so few. But if you step on one or try and pick one up, you are likely to get bitten.

NSX, don't worry about the rattlesnakes, just stay away from the. Camping at the Bowen Ranch is as safe as at any other dry site of the beaten track. This is a great weekend for your first visit. Join us on Saturday down at the springs for the US Forest Services and Deep Creek Volunteers. As Sycamore Laughing indicates in the previous thread that DCV will also be having a potluck lunch following our monthly meeting with the USFS ranges as guests.
