This is obviously unrelated, but if you're inclined to help with a more global search effort to find the missing aircraft that never made it to Beijing, this company in CO owns a satellites that can take images from space to the resolution of a table plate. They are offering a "before the disappearance" and "after the disappearance" set of satellite images but because the area is so large, need help from the general public to flag any odd objects in the water that may appear to be debris, life jackets, etc. It may take a while to load as their servers are still overloaded and earlier today their site crashed on me twice ...
