Well my big truck made it but it was so rough that I decided to go out by the freedom trailhead. The entire route was much worse than when we used to do it years ago. But we did have a Jeep Cherokee back then, which is much smaller. I don't suggest this route to anyone with a new big truck.by sierra_shadow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Yes, this is the route I am talking about. Does anybody know if it is passable?by sierra_shadow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Thanx Jobe. Yes, I can handle that. I have a cold tub in my back yard and soak as low as 50 degrees F. So I think I can wade across the creek. I have crossed the creek in a raging torrent with The Wizard pulling the rope tied to an inner tube! Now that is adventure! I don't want to park at the Freedom Trailhead due to the vanalism. Is the lower (we used to call it the 4X4) parking lot as dby sierra_shadow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I have not been to DCHS in a few years, my wife and I used to be regulars there every weekend. I am thinking of going tomorrow and would like to know how the roads to the 4X4 parking lot are. I want to take the long route so I don't have to take my new truck down that super steep hill. And is the creek still about waist deep?by sierra_shadow - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
