This was our first visit to DCHS and I tell ya, we had a blast! We had originally planned to arrive Saturday mid-morning, but since I had Friday off in observance of Nevada Day, and the Mrs was able to take the afternoon off, we arrived Friday evening. This worked out a lot better for a variety of reasons. When we arrived at Bowen, we were greeted by Mike. He took the time to chat with us, showedby Vegas Nudist - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Tombaird007, My wife and I are planning on visiting that weekend. We'll be driving in from Vegas that Saturday morning, and plan on arriving there mid-morning. We'll be the ones in the big silver Silverado with Nevada plates :-) On a side note, that Sunday will be our 34th anniversary! Maybe we'll see you there... Jim, Some good advice there, thanks. Not knowing the lay of the land, I wasn't quite sure what Rick meant. Thanks for clarifying. Maps are good, observing the back-trail is good, and as an added precaution, I'll have my GPS with me. As far as rules go, mine are simple: Respect the land (Mike's rules, and the custom's and courtesy's of the area fall in here). Take nothing but pictures. Paul, I understand the fire danger, that's why I was thinking about the screened pit. It does a good job of containing any sparks. But if you feel it's a bad idea, I'll reconsider. Cold and windy? Hopefully not too much, but I can prep for that. We've been camping at Lake Mohave under those conditions. Might put a damper on the nudity though (diehard nudist here. LOL)... Rick, Are you advising camping on forest service land just outside Bowen? I do have a 4X4 diesel truck. What about leaving the truck at Bowen (concerned about the risk of vandalism, however rare), then when it's time to set up camp, drive down to the USFS parking lot and camp there. If so, do I get there via Bowen? I usually try to do a recon trip first, but since DCHS is about 3 hours away...by Vegas Nudist - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My wife and I are planning on visiting the springs via Bowen Ranch Oct 31st. We are planning on camping at Bowen Ranch and I have a couple of questions. Does the owner mind if we are discreetly nude at our campsite? What about a campfire if we use one of those portable screened-in fire pits? In case of emergency, is there cell phone coverage in the area and at the springs? Thanks...by Vegas Nudist - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
