Great report Neogeo. I got there Sunday about mid day, but didn't stay long. On the way out noticed the Rangers were ahead of me - didn't realize they were frogmarching someone out. They kept stopping and I started getting paranoid that they were waiting for me (freehiking) so I kept stopping to investigate very interesting rocks along the path.by lard mckenzie - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Made the drive to Bowen with my oldest daughter. We left the parking lot around 11:30. Ran into a family on the way out who had all the kids turn their back as we passed. Remembering the tales of the previous weekend I thought that was a sign of more of that. We got to the creek just as several backpackers were leaving, and the crowd remaining looked pretty low key. Going back to neogeo's question, do you abandon places like Deep Creek on weekends because of the people who don't appreciate the established culture? I've only been coming to DCHS since the late summer of last year, I've been there on weekdays and weekends. So far I have not had the experiences others have talked about in being the only non-textile, though quite a few times I've definitely beby lard mckenzie - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I've only recently started visiting DCHS (since late summer last year), but have been visiting pretty frequently. I've been midweek as well as weekend without any problems so far, either on the trail or down at the springs.by lard mckenzie - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
I agree Murray. I think most textiles are aware they may encounter nudity, and many would likely join if they felt strength in numbers. By avoiding the weekends completely, Deep Creek becomes an established textile area. Deep Creek will maintain an established naturist tradition only if frequented by naturists - so I think "nude it or lose it". Arrived at Bowen around 10am, about a dozen cars already there. Temp was in the low 60's with snow still on the mountain tops, making a nice contrast. The water level at the crossing was much deeper than the last time I was here a few weeks ago. Water came up to my chest and that will wake you up. By the time I made it up to the Anniversary pool the feeling was returning to my feet. Fairly mellby lard mckenzie - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Saw the weather report forcasting temps at 72 so decided to take the day off. Got to Bowen Ranch at about 10 and paid my $5. No other cars were in the lot. Sun was playing hide n seek behind some small clouds - quite nice actually. Got to DC and not a soul in sight. Tried each of the pools, cleaned up a bag of trash, and left about 2. Had the whole place to myself the entire day. Thought I kept hby lard mckenzie - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
