Reporters are going to write stories about interesting places, no one has to tell them necessarily. There was story in the LA Times November 1999 about the Deep Creek area. I have no idea how the reporter came to learn of Deep Creek or the issues he wrote about. There was another story in February 1999 in the LA Times which may have been solicited by the BLM because it was mostly a story onby katrina - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Well, Emmett, I think Eastbay may have a point there in that he only said an increase in people and visitors. He did not necessarily mean any further implication. However, the media is going to write about Deep Creek Hot Springs whether we like it or not. We may or may not have an influence on the content or number of stories. Deep Creek is an attractive interesting place.by katrina - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
The website was map less for over a year. After many people requested maps of the area, even people who go there regularly, I finally put up good maps. This may have been also due to the Willow Fire and the change in routes. It is impossible to keep Deep Creek Hot Springs a secret. The media has always been interested in places like this. Today we have the internet which allows increased accessby katrina - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California

NAC is very concerned about these issues, have legal staff and I am positive that they will respond soon. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department had a memorandum of understanding that authorized the Bureau of Land Management to enforce state laws on Federal Land. I have a copy of this agreement as I requested it from the sheriff's department. Then when the county became upset with the Bureau of Land Management earlier this year concerning their treatmentby katrina - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Chief Law Enforcement Ranger Barry Nelson is incorrect on a couple of points. First of all, the County of San Bernardino took away the authority of the BLM to enforce State laws on Federal lands. This was recently confirmed with Mr. Bob Smith at Postmus' office. The BLM do not have the authority right now to arrest you for violating state laws. Secondly, I think we will find that the law haby katrina - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
July 28 2002 The pools at Deep Creek offer more than a cool dip on a hot day ("Not Everyone Gets Into Deep Creek's Pools," July 20). In August 1999, my son and a friend were camping at the pools when they became trapped by the rapidly burning Willow fire that blazed south through the mountains. Having no escape, they jumped into a pool and, with just their heads above water, managed toby katrina - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
