Amy, I hope my earlier post does not keep you away from Deep Creek! Even though I reported about gunfire, I should have made a better effort to keep things in context. There wasn't any shooting near the springs themselves, but we could here it because sound can travel so far in such a quiet place. Sometimes when I hike in from the Bradford Ridge Path (near Lake Arrowhead) I will come across quailby Larabees - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
1) Why were the Sheriffs deputies there? Were they investigating the gunfire incidents, or something else? The deputies were there to investigate the reports of shooting. 2) Who contacted the Sheriff's deputies initially? I don't know. 3) Did anyone at the springs speak to the "boys" about safety issues with them shooting near the springs? I and a friend of mine visited Deep Creek hot springs on Tuesday. The weather was very nice, a bit cool, but sunny and perfect for hiking. There were a fair number of people down at the springs that day, but not too many and everyone was really nice. We were all were relaxing and just enjoying the serenity. I have been to The Springs several times, but please forgive me for being a total dork. Can someone please give me the names of all the soaking pools? I might be best to start with the one that is almost at pool level, on the North end, near where the creek flows in and, working clock-wise, end with the newest one which is down by the crossing-rope right at creek level. I appreciate this, thankby Larabees - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
Let's hope for the best. And good luck to you, Sycamore (Danielle and I met you at the springs a few weeks ago, you're so nice!) -- Larryby Larabees - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
My girlfriend and I visited Deep Creek Hotsprings for the first time on Labor day. It was a wonderful experience. We parked at Bowen Ranch and hiked in from there. The dirt road into Bowen was in great shape. We made the hike down to the river and when we got there we saw a very beautiful place; it looked like an oasis. We met a few people and everybody was very friendly and everyone was respectby Larabees - Deep Creek Hot Springs, Apple Valley, California
