Sorry to hear that you came across that so candle wax. Seems like that will be a continuing problem down there.
These people that visit during evening hours are the one's obviously doing the candle burning.
The place sometimes turns into a party place at night. Usually the locals doing the partying.

As far as dogs in the pools, they shouldn't be in them. Many of us have complained to those permitting their dogs into pools. We even dislike dogs near the pools wet, because they'll come next to you and your belongings and shake. Not all dog owners watch over their pets.
If you're soaking in a pool and dog comes along with his or her owner, say something to the owner. kindly ask them to keep their dogs out of the soaking pool/s. It's unsanitary to have a dog in a pool anyway. Not many of us like dogs in pools.
Just let the pet owner know of your displeasure.
