This time of year when there are sudden and furious lightening storms, the weather poses some threat to people. The other day, three people died in 29 palms due to a flash flood and there was a small fire started by lightening. So, just cautioning you to be aware of the weather and your surroundings when there are storms in the area.
Lightning blamed for half-acre forest fire
Firefighters tackled a half-acre forest fire eight miles from here in the San Bernardino National Forest on Wednesday morning.
Officials said it appeared the blaze was sparked by lightning from Tuesday's storm.
Aircraft were used to extinguish the fire, said Tricia Abbas, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Forest Service.
