Questions sent to the DCV website go to me. I got this one a couple of days ago,
" Your descriptions of Deep Creek And Bowen Ranch at http://www.deepcreekvolunteers.com/ are really informative and accurate – except for one distance, the length of the hike down to the springs. It is 1.5 to 1.6 miles, not “over 2 miles”. This is taking the short way down the steep hill at the springs; the long way can't add more than a quarter mile. I have measured it several times on different aerial views at high resolution; the trail follows a pretty direct route all the way. Also, in the old days when I hiked a very steady pace, I could measure distance by my watch, and it worked out to be 1.5 miles.
The reason I am bringing this up is that I feel that your exaggeration of the distance might discourage some hikers from visiting this wonderful and nearly unique hot springs. "

I hike into the springs using other routes. I am thinking if this person is accurate about the distance I will have the DCV admin ( my friend Ralph ) change the info at the site. Does anyone have GPS info that would tell how far it is, using the most traveled route using the right split down near the bottom of the trail?
