Newbie to Deep Creek

I was recently at a natural hot spring @ Mammoth that my boss shown me, and it was the most awesome natural outdoor experience I've ever had. Now that I'm back, I am in search for some natural hot spring and I found information about Deep Creek.

I just want to ask, when is the best time to go?

It's spring-ish time and weather now, I assume packing up my tent and spend a weekend night over there would be a great way to relax, isn't it? Any experienced visitor can shred some light? Such as what's the best way to get there? Where is the spot that you can camp out, etc etc?
