My husband and I went to Little Caliente yesterday. The road was open but quite bumpy since the paved road ends and you'll need to drive at least an hour on the dirt road. It was dissapointing to see the hotspings as just a 8' x 4' scum pond. I have never been there before, so I'm not sure if we missed something. Maybe you could tell me if there were some more pools somewhere else close to this one.
The road from the Pendola Ranger Station was open all the way to what we thought was Big Caliente which was 2.5 miles exactly (we checked).
When we got there, there was a sign that referenced Big Caliente as 1 mi walk in. We didn't make the walk since it was 100 degree weather and we were disappointed with the look of the first pool.
Do you know of any nice (clean) hotspings around the Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo area?
