That sure is a cute squirrel. Where I am building a new home for my family in Apple Valley there is a big rocky hill that goes up behind the house. Our property is on flatter ground out in front of this hill. Let me tell ya its Varmit City up there. Mice, Chipmunks, Kagaroo Rats, big grey rats, gophers, rabbits, and thats just on the ground. There are lots of hawks who enjoy the up welling breezes that blow up the hill, tons of ravens, and I have seen a falcon around a few times. There's lots of smaller desert birds and all of these critters figure my newly planted drought tolerant bushes and trees are thier personal salad. I finally figured out a good system of wire mesh to keep them all at bay till by plants get bigger. When we get moved in well put out a water source so we can watch them all from our kitchen nook, I'm looking forward to that :-)
