Rick, If you have concerns in the Bowen Ranch area you should try hiking in on the Bradford Ridge trail. It is a longer hike but you are across the creek from Bowen territory. Most of the extra time on this trail is spent getting to the edge of the Deep Creek Canyon and it does go up and down a bit along the way. I have hiked from the Kinely Creek bridge to the springs many times and " so far " have never had any trouble with my car there. I've noticed that the forestry dept. seems to go by that parking area quite a bit.
