Thanks for that info NN. When I pulled up the sites about Swimmer's Itch the one I read discussed that this parasite is associated at times with snails in fresh water. When I was at DCHS yesterday with my two daughters, my one daughter Amber found a fresh water snail in the Womb. It was small and greenish, about an eight of an inch long or a little bigger. It was definitely a live snail and while holding it we saw it come part ways out of its shell. I have never see a snail like that in any of the hotpools at DCHS. The Womb being the coolest of all the pools at DCHS may be the reason these snails can live there, perhaps down in the cooler depths of its bottom. At least this Swimmers Itch shows itself to only be a nuisance, and not a big problem.
