I did see a program, not long ago, that discussed how important the moon, and its affect on the Earth, has been in providing an environment that is conducive to the well being of all of us Carbon Units, living things :-) Without the moons influence on this sphere, things would have been " very " differant, and unpleasant. These affects are related to moons affect on the earths spin, which relates to ocean currents, which relates to climate, winds, and precipitation, which makes life possible. After seeing that program, I looked on the moon with a new sense of appreciation :-)
